Gabe has 32 years of professional experience in the design, planning, implementation and construction management of workplace environments. Over the last 20 years, Gabe has focused his professional development in learning the art and science of hands-on business management, training design professionals to deliver both design and service excellence, while enjoying the craft that is the design profession.

As one of the founders of Design Republic, Gabe plays a strategic role in the overall business and financial management, business development, branding & marketing strategy, organizational leadership and culture direction. Gabe is a strong believer and ambassador of Design Republic’s culture; a culture that challenges the status quo, a culture of purpose, a culture of trust, of respect and a culture of honest and constructive dialogue. As Gabe likes to say, “Clients don’t buy what we do, they buy what we believe”.

Gabe is driven by strategy, action and results and has focused on fusing the best of all in the design studio into a group of “one” targeted to building a great legacy firm. He has zero tolerance for mediocrity and is focused on constant improvement for the firm’s clients and employees. Gabe is also passionate about “creative critical thinking” and loves books on neuroscience, social and behavioral psychology.

Prior to launching Design Republic, Gabe played a key role at Callison International, a 1,000 person firm, as Head of the NY office and prior to Callison as Principal in Charge of Operations for TPG Planning & Design, a 250 person firm. Gabe’s personal interests include golf and managing his own money. As a hobby, Gabe dabbles as an investor in other companies that include a Tech startup, Fatty Group LLC and Appleseed’s.

Gabe has received notable mentions in the NY Times, Facilities Design Magazine, Contract Magazine, Real Estate Weekly, The Mann Report and a feature on the CBS Sunday Morning show. Gabe has also been a frequent speaker at NYU School for Continuing Education – Real Estate Division.

Gabe’s philanthropic activities includes participation in or raising funds for organizations such as Community for Hispanic Children and Families, Autism Society, New York Cares, National Tourette Syndrome Association, Harlem RBI, American Cancer Society, Global Witness, Chashama for the Arts, Multiple Sclerosis Society and The Smart Ride. Over the last 3 years Gabe has cycled over 600 miles in order to raise funds for various unique causes including AIDS and MS. In 2015, Gabe was honored for citizenship by the Committee for Hispanic Children in NYC, a state wide non-profit providing services to families in need.

Gabe holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the City College School of Architecture, he is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), CORNET and the International FAcilities Management Association (IFMA).

Gabe is married and lives with his wife Andrea in Queens, NY, and has 2 children, Aidan and Isabella.
